The EDGE Links
Well, well!! Here we are the day we all had been waiting for. The motorhome is packed, the pre-planning is done, we all have our "EDGE" t-shirts on ... we are ready the experience of our lives!!!! Just a quick note on the motorhome. It was a 36' Fleetwood Pace Arrow. It had 2 slide-outs, one is visible in these photos, and the other is on the other side at the rear for the bedroom.
Getting our pictures taken was a delight because we could show off our EDGE t-shirts.
This is our gang. First I have to give credit to my sister Dianne for taking this photo. She and her husband Bill drove back to California when we left. They would be back to join us later in the trip.
From left to right in the rear is Aunt Donna, Eric, Justin, Grandpa, Dan (yours truly), Aunt Edee, and Uncle Tim. The front row from the left to right is Jonathan, Kevin, Heather, Amy, Karen, and Lynn.
On the back of our t-shirts was our motto, I would give credit to whoever first said this, but I don't know.
Our very first stop was Zion National Park. We took the shuttle bus up the main canyon all the way to the end to the Temple of Sinawava. At this point we would do our first hike to the river.
Along the way we encountered some wildlife, well maybe not so wild. This little guy was a real hit!!
After the bus ride we were exhausted so we had to take a break ... just teasing ... we stopped for a water and bathroom break before we started our hike.
As we continue our walk, we marvel at all the beauty around us!!!
We were rewarded at the end of our hike with a watery play area. Boy was that fun!!
This is just a sample of what we saw in the Zion Canyon!
The children (Jonathan, Karen and Lynn) at play with Grandpa and Aunt Edee.
Karen and Lynn just having a grand time!!
Heather and Amy are best buddies, can you tell?
Once we were finished at the river, it was time to go back to the motorhome and check into the campground for our first night on the road.
This was our camping spot at Zion. The space seemed big enough, until I tried to park the motorhome off the road and reasonably level. At this point I am starting to appreciate the beauty of pull through RV spots.
There was an excellent climbing tree right across the road from our spot. Can you spot all the 'EDGElings' in the tree? See if you can, and when you think you have found them all, scroll down for the answer. I'll give you a hint ... there are 6, at least that is how many I counted.
Good Luck!!
Did you find them all? The answer is just below ....
