The EDGE Links
This morning we were going to be heading to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. We of course had to have some breakfast since this was going to be a big day. Kevin seems to be enjoying his breakfast, jam smile and all.
I drove the motorhome for the majority of the trip, however Grandpa wanted his turn at it too. Doesn't he look grand at the wheel?
As we left Lake Powell, we stopped at a viewpoint as we just started out decent down off the Rainbow Plateau through the Echo Cliffs. You can see the Marble Canyon in this photo.
This is another photo looking to the left of the one above. You can clearly see the Echo Cliffs.
We arrive at the North Rim and before we go onto our afternoon activities, lunch is required. The North Rim was busy the day we were there. We were very fortunate to get a spot that we could squeeze the RV into. Someone was just leaving as we pulled up, so they were kind enough to give us the spot they were using.
One of our big activities for the afternoon was a Mule Ride, what fun!! These next few shots were of the group getting ready.
The little boys, Jonathan & Kevin, were the first to get a mule.
Amy seems happy to be on the mule, doesn't she?
Karen looks extremely confident on the mule. You'd think she had a passion for this.
Grandpa, Justin, and Eric are ready to go too!
And they're off!! The mule ride was going to last about an hour, so I had some time to kill.
While the rest of the EDGE-lings were riding the mules, I wondered up the same path they went, and I saw this beautiful view of the Grand Canyon. I just had to take a couple of photos. I took some time to take in the grandeur of Mother Nature. It was so peaceful among the trees, and it felt good.
The riders returned an hour later and I was able to get a photo of each and every one of them as they came down the path.

What would a trip to the Grand Canyon be like without taking the short hike to an overlook? This is why they call it 'Grand'! As you can see it was a pretty clear day when we were there.
Another group photo opportunity. From left to right;

After taking in the mule ride and the hike to the overlook, it was getting late. It was time to move on, so we headed out. On the way, we found a picnic area that looked like a perfect place for dinner. We stopped, leveled the motorhome, and cooked dinner. It got a bit breezy a couple of times, but nothing serious. The EDGE-lings waited patiently as the food was being prepared. They had done their chores in getting the tables ready.
