Day 9, Lake Mead

The EDGE Links
We arrived at Lake Mead (Overton Marina) on Sunday afternoon. That would give us enough time so I would be able to drive to Las Vegas to get my boat, and it would also give the kids a chance to do a bit of swimming. We would have a big day at the lake on Monday.
This is where we camped. It is the RV park at the Overton Marina. Aunt Dianne and Uncle Bill joined us for this part of the trip. It was good to have them with us.
Another photo of the RV. This was actually taken early in the morning that we would be heading it out. It looked like the weather (what I really mean is the wind) was going to behave itself.
Once we got everyone transported to the spot that would be ours for the day, the EDGE-lings started to do the thing that love to do. That is play!!
The order of the day was to tow the EDGE-lings, and who ever else liked that sort of thing. First up we have Uncle Tim and Kevin on the 'Ski-bob'.
Eric was a bit more aggressive on the 'Ski-bob'. You can tell by the wake of the boat that we were not just doing an idle. Hang on Eric!!
Next up are Amy and Heather. The water remained nice and calm for the better part of the day.
Karen & Lynn enjoy a ride on the 'Ski-bob' too.
Aunt Dianne & Jonathan weren't going to be left out of the fun!
Even Grandpa got his turn on the 'Ski-bob'! I think Grandpa had a great time at the lake even though it was well over 100 degrees that day! The sun was warm, but Grandpa kept himself protected.
After the 'Ski-bob', Amy wanted to give the kneeboard a try. The shore start seemed to be the best option. We started off by pulling Amy by hand to give her an idea what she was going to be in for. That was a good idea, but it doesn't come close to the power of the boat!!
Not many people get up on the first couple of times trying. Yes, Amy took a dip, rather a dunk!!
It didn't take her too long to figure it out, and she was up and knee boarding!!! Way to go Amy!!
Not to be outdone by his sister, Eric gave it a try too, and succeeded I might add!
Next, Aunt Dianne wanted to try something she had not done in years ... water-ski. Let's she how she does!
Aunt Dianne got up, if memory serves, on the second try. Once she was up there was no way she was going to fall or even let go. I took her on quite a long ride. I could not believe her endurance after not skiing all these years. Maybe it's all the running around she does at her house!!
Kevin wanted to be skipper for a bit, how could I say no!!
Finally I have a couple of photos of Grandma & Grandpa in their 'EDGE' t-shirts. Being Grandma & Grandpa, they got their shirts weeks before the rest of us. I guess that's OK ... after all without them, none of the members of the EDGE would be around!!! Thanks Mom & Dad!!!
I hope you enjoyed you visit to 'The EDGE' web pages. Feel free to pass the link along to anyone that you wish, so that they may share in the "Edee, Dan, Grandpa Experience" as did the rest of us. I just want to say I think the 'EDGE' will be remembered for a long to time to come by everyone that was involved. I know it was a very special time for me ... Thank-you Edee for asking me to drive!!!
