Once again we launched at Overton. I have not taken a photo of the ramp before, so for the sake of something different, here is a picture, rather several photos together, of the Overton Marina and launch ramp. In times past, most of what you see here was under water.
Stewart's Point was, well let's just say we had a lot further walk to the boat than before.
Lets see, where do I start ... well once again Gene provided us with some excitement the first day there. As a result of a gash in his leg from his prop (stainless steel I might add) it was necessary to make a trip to the Overton Urgent care facility to get it checked out. Annette did the initial application of the butterfly bandages. While at Urgent Care, the doctor commented what a wonderful job some one did at applying the butterflies. It was so good, that the doctor left them intact!!
While in Urgent Care, Joe couldn't help but enjoy this moment!!!!
Couldn't just go to Overton Urgent Care and not take a picture of the facility. Dr. Habib was the attending physician.
The doctor recommended a stop at the "Red Rooster Bar" to get the required medicine, so the trip could continue on a more joyous note. The doctor's advice was taken seriously, after all we wouldn't want to take a chance and go against what the doctor had recommended to us, now would we!!!
Once we arrived back at camp, it was Gene who cooked, actually deep-fried a turkey for us. This was a great start to the trip!!!
The trip provided us with the best weather overall of any trip we have ever taken to the lake. The temperatures were perfect, the wind was calm, the nights were clear, the moon was full, and the sunrises were beautiful!!!!

I thought a comparison would be interesting. The photo on the top was taken the 4th of July weekend in 2000. The photo on the bottom was taken on Labor Day 2001. You can see the difference in the lake level. By the way the pictures were taken from similar vantage points, standing near where we park the RV's and such.
I am trying something new. I am experimenting with a new format. Since a lot of people view the page with their monitor desktop/screen area set to 1024x768 pixels, I thought I would try a wider format with my web page. These pages are the format I have used in the past best viewed with your monitor set at 800x600. Let me know what you think. Here is a link to my e-mail. I have included links to both sets of pages ... for your viewing pleasure!!
