Here are some photos of my Home Theater. It is an ongoing project, if you will a work in progress. My only wish is that I had a dedicated, enclosed, darkened room to house my equipment. For now I have to make do with a converted Family Room. I hope you enjoy the photos! Dan
First a photo of the entire system (almost). The surround and rear speakers are not in this photo. The most recent additions are a Velodyne SMS-1, another Bryston 6B SST, and an Xbox 360. Prior to that, a Samsung DLP HDTV (model HL-P6163W) and a Bryston 4B SST amp. Another addition has been the Home Theater seating.
Starting on the left is one of my B&W Nautilus 802's. This speaker is bi-amped.
Here is my center channel speaker, a B&W HTM1. I bi-amp this speaker too.
The amp at the top is a Bryston 6B SST. It is a 3 channel amp rated at 300 watts per channel into 8 ohms. According to the final checkout sheet included with this amp, the channels measure either 337 or 336 watts. It powers the woofers of my center channel speaker and my rear speakers.
Next is my Anthem AVM 20 pre-amp processor, also called a surround sound processor. This baby is the heart of my system. Everything goes through this component!
These next components are two DVD players. The top one is a Yamakawa Region Free DVD player. It is a Model DVD-288 k/vga. This is just an inexpensive DVD player. I purchased it to play a few Concert DVD's that I bought from the UK. Beneath it is a Denon DVD-2900 DVD player. This is my main DVD player.
And on the bottom of the rack is my Monster power conditioner (model HTS 5100) and my Monster voltage stabilizer (model AVS 2000).
These are necessary to filter the incoming AC voltage and maintain 120 volts to my components.
The power conditioner filters the incoming AC power to reduce electrical noise. It also provides surge protection for my components.
The voltage stabilizer monitors the incoming AC voltage and compensates for any variance from 120 volts.
I can also monitor my current usage of the system through both these units! Nice feature!!
Oh yeah - my DVD collection. I started collecting DVD's in July of 1997, 3 months before I got my first DVD player. Current DVD count is 954!
I hope you enjoyed this brief visit to my "Passion".

The next 2 components down are Bryston 7B SST single channel amplifiers (also called 'monoblocks'). They are each rated at 600 watts per channel into 8 ohms. These amps actually measure 620 & 625 watts respectively. I use these to power the woofers of my two Nautilus 802's.
What would a Home Theater be without a subwoofer? For that I purchased a Velodyne HGS Series II HGS-18.
Here is a picture of my right surround and rear speakers - all are B&W 805's. These speakers are not bi-amped or bi-wired.
Here is a more "aerial" view of my rear and surround speakers. The only thing I am still considering is the height of these speakers. Since I got my new seating, the speakers are now barely peaking out over the top of the sectional. I haven't worried about it too much, since the speakers are just used for the surround effects, it still does sound pretty good.
Below are a few more photos of my system. As you can see my dog is fast asleep on the sofa - I didn't have the heart to move her. I inherited this Pomeranian from my ex-wife.
Next, is a photo of my components. Further down is a brief description of each. The component rack is a Sanus Systems, the Euro Audio Furniture line.
The next component down is a Bryston 4B SST amp. It is rated at 300 watts per channel into 8 ohms. This amp actually measures 345 and 344 watts per channel. I use this amp to power my surround speakers.
The next shelf has a DVR (supplied by Cox Cable). Below that is my old DVD player. It is a second generation Sony DVD player I originally purchased in 1997. Believe it or not, there is a DVD I have which won't play on my new Denon player, but plays just fine on this baby. I use this player for that plus playing CD's on occasion. It is a Model DVP-S3000.
Here is a picture taken a bit further back. You can see a bit of the rear speakers here, and more of my new Home Theater sectional.
This shot is taken from my kitchen looking into my Family Room.
This shot is taken looking from the front left corner. Yes, that's a dog sleeping on the recliner. More on that later.
Then of course on the right is my other B&W Nautilus 802. This speaker is also bi-amped.
Here you can see a side view of the sub, and the back of the TV with assorted cables. Speaking of cables, my interconnects are a combination of Cobalt Cable & Monster Brand cable. My speaker wire is Cobalt Cable.
One last photo.
The amp at the bottom is another Bryston 6B SST. It is a 3 channel amp rated at 300 watts per channel into 8 ohms. The channels actually measure either 324 or 323 watts. It powers the tweeters and the midrange speakers of my center channel and my main speakers.
One the top shelf of my other rack is a Xbox 360 and a Velodyne Model SMS-1 Subwoofer Equalizer. I can't say enough about the SMS-1. This baby got rid of the "boominess" of my low frequencies. Music sounds better and movies sound more realistic!
