Well everyone. Yes I know it has been a long time since I have done some work on this website, but fear not I have finally got these pictures up. Enjoy!!
We started our trip with the usual long drive up to Northern California. We stopped for a night at a nice RV park that Lisa had so kindly made reservations for all of us - Thank-you Lisa!
As you can see, Joe can't wait to get out on the Kayaks! You will see plenty of photos of the Kayaks. Edward does not know we took this picture. (Yes that is Edward's truck!)
This RV spot also gave us, rather gave Joe an opportunity to do some RV repairs. If this part of the RV does not look familiar to any of you then you haven't experienced a trip with Joe! Just teasing Joe!! I will elaborate more in a minute.
As you can see, Joe is enjoying this part of the trip. Let me explain what had happened. As we were driving up, part of a truck tire was in the middle of the freeway. You know the chunks I am talking about! Well, Joe hit one of these pieces going full speed. It hit the underside of the motorhome, right where you drain the gray and black water - sewer pipes to the none-RV people out there. You can see Joe draining what was left in the holding tanks.
I'll continue to write while Joe continues to work, is that OK with you Joe? Anyway, after the chunk of tire took out the plumbing of Joe and Annette's RV, the holding tanks leaked a bit (actually more than a bit) on the freeway. I was right behind Joe when this happened. I saw the whole thing happen, and after the tire hit it looked like there was smoke coming from the left side of the RV. Joe immediately pulled over to assess the damage.
Continuing with the story -- You see earlier in the day we were concerned about overheating on the boat trailer brakes, so I figured a similar thing had happened on the motorhome. Shortly after the tire hit the motorhome I started to experience some slight moisture on my window of my truck. I didn't associate the moisture to the motorhome, since I was still thinking smoke and fire. It was only after stopping on the freeway that I finally put 2 and 2 together and figured out what the moisture was on my truck window. Need I explain more? As you can see in this photo we all were eager to jump in help out Joe with his problem. We are such a supportive and helpful bunch when one of our group has a problem!!
Joe looks very relaxed in this photo. Deep down I think is very proud of his new valves for his holding tanks - don't they look good!!! Good job Joe!!
OK, on to the next problem!! Once we got to Trinity, Joe was just doing some routine checks around the motorhome, and he discovered that one of the tires on the motorhome was flat. No it couldn't be one of the outside ones, it was an inside rear one on the passenger side. After an disappointing call to AAA Joe and Ed decided they could tackle this - no problem.
These next few photos demonstrate how handy it is to have Edward along on the trips. He carries with him anything you might need in case something goes wrong. This gave him a chance to use the impact wrench that he had with him.
The boys are really getting into this changing tire routine.
This was all taking place in the parking lot of a small shopping center in Weaverville. Joe was to discover that this was not the only flat tire he was going to have on this trip.
The boys are almost done.
Well, after that eventful trip up to Trinity we finally got our campsite set up and were able to settle in for a couple of weeks. By the way, I should let you know that I was only able to stay for one week, which is why there are only 7 days of the Trinity Trip on my website. This photo is taken from the front of Rick's motorhome looking toward the area between Joe and Annette's motorhome and Rick's.
You can see Joe with his hands in the air standing by his motorhome. Edward's truck is on the right. The neighbor's truck is on the left.
